A Team for everyone

A Team for Everyone

Troupes & Lines

Our younger troupes and lines are meant for a beginning-level competition experience. As students get older, some of our troupes and lines are geared for students who are passionate about dance, yet want to keep their other extracurricular activities. These teams are required to take extra technique classes and maintain excellent attendance. Students may remain on the same team for multiple years as each individual dancer progresses at a different rate. Green Bay Troupes and Lines: Mini Troupe, Junior Troupe and Junior Line. Fox Valley Troupes and Lines: Mini Troupe, Petite Troupe, Junior Troupe, and Junior Line.

Pre Travel Teams

Designed for dancers that would like to attend one additional regional competition along with the competitions that troupes and lines are already attending. These dancers have a desire to join a travel team in the future. Students may remain on the same team for multiple years as each individual dancer progresses at a different rate. Travel Teams

Designed for the more serious dancer, travel teams are for dancers contemplating going on to school for dance or possibly wanting a career in the field. We offer national teams that attend a convention, compete at four regional competitions per year and one national competition. In addition to the extra technique classes, being a part of the Travel Teams takes a higher level of commitment and more hours of dedication. Students may remain on the same team for multiple years as each individual dancer progresses at a different rate. Green Bay Travel Teams: Extreme Junior and Extreme Teen. Fox Valley Travel Teams: Shooting Stars, Starlight, and Starbound.

Essence Dance Company

Our Essence Dance Company (EDC) team is designed for dancers with extreme focus, motivation, and a drive for the professional dance world. Company will function as a dynamic performing group and competition team. Company members will learn through self-discipline and time management. Company members will know the importance of teamwork and they will learn crucial life

lessons along the way.

They will earn a positive self-image that they take with them in their individual pursuit of their goals and dreams. BCFD's Essence Dance Company will focus heavily on technique in all disciplines of dance: they will attend dance conventions and have potential opportunities to go on dance-related trips and more during the year. They will also attend four regional competitions and a National competition. Students may remain on the same team for multiple years as each individual dancer progresses at a different rate.

Essence Dance Company includes:

EDC Junior, EDC Teen, and EDC Senior.

What Should I Expect at the Audition?

Information:

Dancers will be asked to...

Collaborate with our competition team staff and student assistants to learn a routine and perform in groups. We believe this audition format will provide dancers with a comfortable and beneficial experience

Opening are limited, and placement in all of our competition teams is audition based

Current Competition Team Members

2024-2025 competition team information and schedules will be posted to the BCFD App at a later date.
All current competition team dancers will be automatically invited to a 2024-2025 team (Within their current commitment level.)

Green Bay Audition Schedule:

Ages 4.5-7, Tuesday, May 14th 4:00-5:00pm
Ages 8-11, Tuesday, May 14th 5:00-6:30pm
Ages 12+, Tuesday, May 14th 6:30-8:00pm

Fox Valley Audition Schedule:

Ages 4.5-7, Wednesday May 29th 4:00-5:00pm
Ages 8-11, Wednesday May 29th 5:00-6:30pm
Ages 12+, Wednesday May 29th 6:30-8:00pm

If you are a...

New Student or current Studio Dancer with the desire to join a competition team

Age 3-years-old or older

Dancers should wear all black, leotard/sports bra or tank top and black spandex shorts/leggings

Current Troupe and/or Line dancer that would like to be considered for Pre-Travel Teams

Hair should be slicked back into a tight bun

Wear jazz shoes, any color

Bring a water bottle

Current Pre-Travel dancer that would like to be considered for Travel Teams

All dancers will be contacted one - two weeks after their audition regarding placement

Audition at the studio where you would like team placement

Team information will be provided via email, parents will have the opportunity to review before making a commitment to a team

Can’t make it to the desired location? You can audition at GB or FV, just make a note in your registration

All competition teams will meet for the four-week summer session and continue into the 2024-2025 Fall/Spring Session

If you can’t make it to either of the audition days, email frontdesk@barbsdance.com to sign up for an alternative day/time.

Teams will meet either the first or second week of August, depending on team for mandatory Intensive Week (learn choreography for 2024-2025 season).
